We are looking for a mid-level software developer to join our team.

• You’ll be directly bringing ideas to life through code and creative technical solutions.
• You’ll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining systems and applications across the stack. You’ll work closely with our founders, creative strategists, and designers to translate concepts into reliable, scalable software that meets our ambitious timelines.
• Your mission will be to drive development forward, ensuring we deliver high-quality solutions -maintaining the level of craft and service that we pride ourselves on.
• The role is highly collaborative, you’ll contribute technical expertise, guide implementation choices, and support the team in shipping features with clarity and confidence.
• This role is located in Paddington, Sydney. We occasionally work remotely, but the nature of our work is incredibly collaborative and better suited to in-person.

The Role

• Work with the software team to develop products from scratch, across a variety of industries and technologies.
• Provide technical knowledge and advice to design and strategy teams throughout the ideation and design of new products.
• Continually develop technical skillset and ensure Nakatomi stays at the forefront of emerging technologies by proactively performing research and development.

Experience & Mindsets Required

• 3–5 years experience in software development, preferably full-stack across web and/or mobile applications.
• Strong programming fundamentals, with experience developing in multiple programming languages, such as TypeScript, Python, C++.
• Comfortable with cloud-based development, with experience building infrastructure as code on AWS, GCP and/or Azure.
• Strong understanding of and interest in the applications of AI, including LLMs, and the ability to pragmatically apply in the development of software.
• Collaborative and communicative, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You’re dedicated and take ownership of the improvement and execution of your craft and are able to learn new skills rapidly.
• You see your future in startups — building, scaling, and creating new ventures.
